Alexander Wang is the wunderkind of contemporary fashion. He has made his name on a simple idea-creating a downtown, “model off duty look that suits has crowd of native New Yorker and also exports all around the world.

Wang, who was born in San Francisco, started early. He dropped out of New York design college Parsons in 2005 , after creating a line of cashmere sweaters that appeared in America Vogue.

His handbag main line followed at New York Fashion Week in 2007 and quickly displayed his talent for missing hip street and sportswear influences with a simplicity of design that women loved.

It was Wang’s appointment as creative director of Balenciaga in 2012 when he was still only 28 that showed he was being taken seriously by the fashion world. Now
Bringing his tough, urban aesthetic to the French house, Wang is part of the fashion aristocracy.

He still does things in his approachable, commercial and highly successful way. In 2014 he produced a collection for high street store H & M- the first American designer to do so.
